Coloring Your World: A Collection of Local Handcrafted Stained Glass
West Avenue Furniture will hold a celebration of the works of local glass artist Carolyn Miller at their 2305 West 11th Avenue showroom on July 24th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. During the event, Miller will unveil a curated selection of her pieces in the gallery, including the debuts of fresh, never-before-seen panels crafted specifically for the occasion.
A long-time feature at Eugene’s beloved Saturday Market, Miller has enjoyed interacting with the community in her Worker Bee Design & Studio booth since 2018. With the upcoming West Avenue Furniture spotlight, Miller’s work will receive well-deserved gallery recognition for the first time. With the staging of Miller’s work in the West Avenue Furniture showroom, the business hopes to highlight the work of talented local artists alongside the showroom’s incredible furnishings.
Miller’s skillfully crafted works can be playful, mid-century, abstract or surprising, and often some combination of the four within the same piece. In her upcoming showcase, she promises to feature everything from contemporary to traditional works, with a few surprises thrown in for good measure. Miller’s art is completed almost exclusively in copper-foil or the TiSany technique, first developed by Louis C. TiSany in the late 19th Century, which allows the stained glass to be richly detailed and complex.
Please join us to experience this collaboration between Worker Bee Design & Studio and West Avenue Furniture as both entities continue their work to further beautify scenic Eugene, Oregon.
